Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon
Scott Dhupar, M.D.
Board-Certified and Fellowship-Trained in Spinal Surgery
Dr. Dhupar came to Northern Colorado in 2005 after completing his advanced fellowship training in spinal and reconstructive surgery at Harvard University / Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Tuft’s University / New England Baptist Hospital in Boston. He has been educated by and trained under renowned Orthopaedic and Neurosurgical spinal specialists from all over the world. Dr. Dhupar was Chief Resident at Boston University/ Boston Medical Center. He is dedicated to continued education in cutting edge technology. Dr. Dhupar prides himself on the use of non-operative treatment in the vast majority of patients who seek consultation. Patient education is a very important part of every evaluation. If surgery is necessary, decision is made between traditional procedures and newer technology based on individual patient needs and desires. In all cases, the patient is an active participant in the decision making process. His expertise in the field of spinal care includes less invasive and computer-assisted procedures when indicated. During surgery, Dr. Dhupar employs spinal cord monitoring and microscope technique to facilitate safety and accuracy. His goal is to accurately identify the pain source so that surgery is successful in alleviating symptoms. He is also actively involved in medical research and the innovation of new technologies that will lead to the improvement of spinal care. In addition, he participates in product development and education for other Orthopaedic and Neurosurgeons. He has a passion for new technologies and improved surgical techniques. He has been with Nadora Healthcare since 2013.

K. Soraya Heidari, M.D.
Board Eligible & Fellowship-Trained In Spinal Surgery
Dr. K. Soraya Heidari came to Colorado in 2023 and joined Nadora Healthcare in the Fall of 2024 as an Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon following the successful completion of her Spine Fellowship at the University of Colorado, Department of Orthopedics. She is licensed to practice medicine in Texas & Colorado. Prior to successfully completing her fellowship in spinal surgery, Dr. Heidari completed her orthopaedic surgical residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in 2023. During her time at UT Southwestern, Dr. Heidari was the Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Education Chief. She earned her medical degree from the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California in 2018 and also earned her Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics; graduating Cum Laude in 2013 from New York University, College of Arts and Science. She also earned a minor in Business Studies and Chemistry. When Dr. Heidari is not helping patients alleviate their symptoms, she can be found in the mountains in her Jeep or visiting friends and family around the country. Dr. Heidari is also a polyglot; having fluency in French and English. Along with conversational proficiency in Persian, Japanese and basic conversational skills in Spanish. Dr. Heidari is excited to help you alleviate the pain and discomfort you can experience from spine disorders. Depending on the nature of your symptoms, non-operative and surgical options are available.

Billy Baumgartner, M.D.

A Colorado native, Dr. William (Billy) Baumgartner returns to Colorado to join Nadora Healthcare in the Fall of 2024 as our Hand & Upper Extremity Surgeon following the successful completion of his Orthopaedic Hand & Upper Extremity Fellowship at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Prior to successfully completing his fellowship in hand & upper extremity surgery, Dr. Baumgartner completed his orthopaedic surgical residency at the University of California, Davis in 2023. Prior to attending residency, Dr. Baumgartner earned his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine in 2018. He also earned his Bachelor of Arts in Visual Media & Health Disparities in 2014 from Duke as well; graduating Magna Cum Laude. An avid outdoorsman, Dr. Baumgartner can be found enjoying the Colorado outdoors either snowboarding or mountain biking depending on the season. He also loves to surf, play the piano, ukulele and is an amateur filmmaker! Having produced two documentaries as an independent film maker. To top it off, Dr. Baumgartner is also bilingual, being fluent in Spanish & English. Alex Nielsen, M.D.

Dr. Alexander Nielsen is a proud Wisconsin native, born and raised in the close-knit rural community of Waterford. With an early fascination for how things work—especially the human body—he pursued a B.S. in Neuroscience at the University of Minnesota–Twin Cities before returning home to complete both medical school and orthopedic surgery residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Following residency, Dr. Nielsen honed his expertise through a fellowship in joint reconstruction surgery, specializing in hip and knee replacements, as well as the management of lower extremity trauma and soft tissue injuries of the hip and knee. He finds deep purpose in helping restore mobility and quality of life for patients of all ages, with a special focus on older adults and underserved populations. Known for his compassionate and thoughtful approach, Dr. Nielsen brings both skill and sincerity to every patient interaction. Outside of the operating room, he’s just as passionate about perfecting a homemade meal, exploring the outdoors, diving into strategy games, and spending meaningful time with friends and family.
